About Dennis

Dennis Comninos is an international Project Management consultant lecturer, and author. He is the co-founder of Denzo Limited and the co-founder and ex-Managing Director of Quanto Strategies (pty) Ltd. He is the director of a number of other companies specialising in project, strategic, and human capital management. He has over 47 years of experience in strategic, general, and IT management relating to almost all industries as a business and systems analyst/developer and project manager. In total he has over 40 years of Project Management experience covering the same disciplines and in particular strategic, IT development, engineering, construction, social, and business projects.

He has spent some 40 years lecturing and consulting extensively in the USA, Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Middle East, India, Mauritius, and Europe. This experience covers IT systems development, business process formulation, social and business project management, and construction/engneering management in major organisations, training institutions, and at various universities and other tertiary education facilities at post-graduate level. He has participated in the design of curricula for IT, engineering, business, and construction Project Management courses at Pretoria University, University of Port Elizabeth, Tshwane University of Technology, and the University of Cape Town's GSB.

As a lecturer, Dennis believes in entertaining as well as educating. He combines his wide project management consulting experience and lecturing style to motivate and enthuse delegates of all disciplines and at all levels to apply strategic project management in their organisations. He is also known for his ability to combine facilitation and education and is often called on to perform free-flow facilitation at executive level.

He is a sought after presenter of project management related topics at various seminars and conferences and is frequently interviewed on radio, television and in technical journals, and newspapers. He is a past-member of the Academic Advisory Board for Project Management at the Tshwane University of Technology and a Program Director and part-time lecturer in Project Management at UCT's GSB. He is also a past-member of the SAQA Project Management Standards Generating Body (PMSGB) and a project management consultant to the World Bank and the United Nations (UNDP).

Dennis is the co-author, together with Enzo Frigenti of a best selling, internationally published book entitled "The Practice of Project Management - A Business Approach". The book is used as a prescribed textbook at various universities and locally and internationally. Their second book " The Practice of Project Management - a guide to the Business-focused approach" has recently been published internationally and has been awarded the Association of MBAs seal of approval for use as a textbook on MBA programmes. Dennis has authored two more books which are used as reference textbooks on distance-learning courses.

Enzo and Dennis have been business partners since 1990 and together form the Denzo Limited team. Dennis is based in Aigio, Greece but spends most of his time traveling around the world.

Specific local and international clients he has developed and done training for and consulted to include MTC Vodafone (now Zain), Unilever, Celltel (now Zain), Arig (Bahrain), TCQ Triangle (Dubai), Takreer Refineries (Abu Dhabi), ADNOC (Abu Dhabi), Saudi ARAMCO (Saudi Arabia), Dimension Data, GijimAst, Eskom, SA Government, Namibian Government, United Nations and World Bank projects in Africa, and various other organisations in South Africa, Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, UK, New Zealand, and Australia.
